Hello,

I see on the NUE-PSK web site that a nue-psk type one cable will work on both the FT-817 and the IC-703. I am wondering since it looks like the pin out for the 817 and the 703 are the same, would the wolphi interface and cable work with the 703 allowing it to key the rig? Given that you would probably have to do some adjusting of the level controls, can you see any reason it would not work for the 703?

Thanks! 73 – Arnie KA0NCR

I believe the mini-din DATA port on radios is a standard, at least as much as there can be in Ham radio.

I don’t know specifics about the IC703, but while screwing around this afternoon with the interface, I tried sending a SSTV picture from my Kenwood mobile rig (which has a data port) to my FT-897d. It worked like a champ, keying up the transmitter and sending a nice clear picture from the driveway.

I believe that the same cable will work with the IC706MKIIG and IC7000. I’m not at home and don’t have the radios or manuals, but believe I’ve used the same cable for both of those, my FT817 (and my K2, but that was modified).
